ABOUT US
The civil war that ravaged Liberia for fourteen years caused a complete collapse of the country’s physical infrastructure. Even more devastating was the collapse of Liberia’s organizational infrastructure, including its educational system. Rebuilding the educational system after the civil war and the 2014 Ebola epidemic faces many complex challenges including poor learning outcomes, unqualified teachers, and a large population of children who are not enrolled in school because their parents cannot afford tuition fees. As a result, Liberian children (even those in the best schools) trail behind their counterparts around the world with regard to education.
Upon a visit to Liberia and tour of The Cyber-Ed Christian School of Excellence, Mac and Makeda Badio initiated plans for a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that would be a vital fundraising resource for specific programmatic and financial needs of the school. The driving force behind the support is the fact that The Cyber-Ed Christian School of Excellence is the only school in Liberia with a digital educational platform that matches the proficiency of schools in the United States, and offers easy transition of students at the same grade level equivalent to that of their counterparts.
